Robert Mitchum
"It takes a real man to admit this, but my wife thinks I look better in your dad’s caricature of me than I do in person." Dick Cavett Nov. 27, 2024
Drawing from June 15, 1972
Signed "But in spirit he sings"
The rather hangdog look on Mitchum's face was because dad thought he might be a bit drunk, a bit stoned, or both, that's why I love his inscription. He knew dad saw right through him and didn't try to sugar coat him. Mitchum admired complete honesty.
